30 kWp GRID CONNECTED ROOFTOP SOLAR PLANT AT LODHA IGNIS CO OP HSG SOCIETY AT GHODBUNDER ROAD,THANE
PROJECT DETAILS:
Lodha Builders has established Residential Apartment Complex “Lodha Splendora” adjacent to Vasai Creek at Bhaynderpada Ghodbunder Road Thane West. IGNIS Co.Op HSG Society (IGNIS) is one of the Building with six wings in lodha Splendora.
To Limit the electricity consumption shares of common services, the members of ignis society have taken various initiatives. As a part of society’s initiative, a 30 kWp Grid Connected Rooftop Solar PV Plant is established on the roof.
IGNIS has individual wings of 19 floors without roof interconnection. A society has established the Solar Plant at one of the wings which results in limited options for innovations. The existing roof was occupied with non-functional less efficient solar water heating systems. The required space for SPV was created by dismantling of the existing water heating system. The SPV Panels were installed on the roof with suitable ground clearance to achieve the solar plant capacity.
Special design parameters were considered and location for mounting the panels was finalized avoiding shadow due to elevated pipes, high raised parapet wall upto 1.5mtr, access to sewage and utility ducts. For Optimal utilization of space, staircase mumty and water tank area were considered for Mounting solar panels.
The real challenge was to integrate the Generated power on roof with the existing network. This activity required advanced methods of vertical cable laying (250 m) with limited work space, without disturbing existing arrangements & stringent timelines for execution. The society members provided unconditional support for completing all works.
Special measures were considered for earthing installations, considering aesthetics of the society. Specific instructions for access, material storage, handling, working hours and safety were followed during execution of the work.
The society proposed to avail subsidy benefits, hence all supplied material are in line with MNREs’ Subsidy guidelines.
The Society also proposed to have a net metering arrangement for the solar power plant. An extraordinary efforts were provided for Net Metering establishments considering MSEDCL reservations on proposed modifications in prevailing MERCs’ Net metering policy & additional Grid Support charges for SPV.
The Society is harnessing solar power to its utmost capacity and ensuring reduction in their energy consumption.
