250 kWP GRID CONNECTED ROOFTOP SOLAR PLANT AT BSNL TELECOM FACTORY DEONAR, MUMBAI.
PROJECT DETAILS:
BSNL telecom factory is located in (Deonar) eastern suburb of Mumbai. Telecom factory manufactures HDPE flexible pipes and termination kits required for underground telecom cable network.
The area is surrounded by residential housing complexes and has a limited access. The factory meticulously plans the dispatches considering the available storage arrangement and vehicle movements.
To optimize the energy consumption requirement and operating cost BSNL has established a 250kWp Solar Power plant on its three different roofs of existing buildings.
The project was implemented in OPEX mode under SECI scheme through AGE RCC (Client).
Modules and Inverters were free supplied by client.
Considering heavy rains in Mumbai region, BSNL has provided special membrane for frequent water proofing requirement of roof. The module mounting structures are pasted with the special adhesive bond keeping 600 mm bottom clearance between Modules and roof at one of the buildings.
The other two buildings have raised columns. Special structures were designed for bottom clearance upto two meters. The roofs had limited access arrangements; hence hydra and cranes were used to shift the material.
Advanced monitoring features of modules were used (Power Optimizers) with extended DC cable laying arrangement upto 300 mtrs.
Many special provisions were made for space creations required for Inverter and other equipment mounting.
The generated solar power is interconnected to nearest points.
Special permissions were obtained from Reliance Energy to obtain Net Metering Arrangements.
The solar power generated and load consumption were mapped/traced and the factories were found most suitable for Solar Power Plant.
