40 kWP GRID CONNECTED ROOFTOP SOLAR PLANT AT MEETRA, NASHIK.
Under the Jal Swaraj Scheme (funded by World Bank), department of water Supply & sanitation of Government of Maharashtra, (Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP)) undertakes development and maintenance activities for providing improved and sustainable water supply systems across the state.
Maharashtra Environmental Engineering Training and Research Academy (MEETRA), is an institute (a part of MJP) undertakes training and research activities under the process of development as “Center of excellence” in water Supply & sanitation sector in Nashik. Under the Jal Swaraj Scheme, MEETRA has established a 40 kWp Grid connected Rooftop Solar PV (SPV)Plant at its existing Administrative building in Nashik.
Being a Government Organisation, special coordinations were required for approvals from multiple authority located at different cities prior and during the execution of work. The plant was established in record time. The Strengthening work of existing building infrastructure carried out by MEETRA required frequent coordination for smooth completion of the work.
The Quality of material supply and execution work were successfully inspected by a Third Party Inspection agency appointed by MEETRA.
MEETRA is also having additional infrastructure development within the premises which required existing electrical network to be modified. The schedule of Electrical network upgradation was challenging with the Solar power plant interconnection. Hence to avail net metering, special permissions were obtained from MSEDCL and Net Metering System is established within the timeline.
The project provided a unique learning experience to understand the functioning of Government department and boosted our confidence through validation of our Project Execution Practices by Third Party Agency.
